Veterinary Chemotherapy
The Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital veterinarians offer chemotherapy treatment planning by referral, providing dedicated care to support your beloved pet's health and well-being after a cancer diagnosis.

Cancer Care for Halifax Pets
Many cancers in pets can be successfully managed with modern veterinary treatments, helping cats and dogs maintain their quality of life and continue enjoying their favourite activities with their families.
At Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital, our team of veterinarians provide exceptional care for pets and meaningful support for the families who love them. We develop personalized treatment plans tailored to your pet's specific needs and your family's goals.
What is chemotherapy?
Chemotherapy uses anti-cancer drugs to slow tumour growth, shrink tumours, or achieve remission in dogs and cats with cancers like lymphoma, mast cell tumours, and osteosarcoma. The medications can be given orally, intravenously, or by injection, targeting cancer cells while maintaining your pet's quality of life.
Most appointments are outpatient, with your pet returning home the same day. Our team is dedicated to helping your pet live well with the care they need and is available to answer questions throughout the process.
Please Note: Specialty services require a referral from a primary care veterinarian.
Veterinary Chemotherapy Referrals
Our veterinary team is happy to announce that we offer safe, specialty-guided chemotherapy treatment plans for patients with various cancer diagnoses through our referral portal. Please contact us with any further questions or to arrange an in-person visit with Dr. Sadie Griffin to discuss the service in more detail.
