Meet Dr. Scott Joudrey
DVM, Residency Trained Surgeon, Practice Limited to Surgery
Dr. Scott Joudrey was born and raised in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2011, completed a one year Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at VEC in Toronto, followed by a Small Animal Surgery Internship and Research Fellowship at Louisiana State University and finally a three year Small Animal Surgery Residency at the Veterinary Speciality and Emergency Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Joudrey returned to Canada in 2017 and has worked at a busy referral hospital in Toronto since that time, but is very excited to return to his roots in Nova Scotia (as is his mother) and help expand the level of advanced veterinary medicine on the East Coast.
Areas of interest and expertise include minimal invasive laparoscopic and thoracoscopic procedures, attenuation of portosystemic shunts, hepatobiliary surgery (liver neoplasia, cholecystectomies, etc), surgical oncology, management of cranial cruciate ligament disease (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy), brachycephalic airway disease and thyroid/parathyroid surgery.
Dr. Joudrey is a huge fan of northern breeds, as he has two huskies himself. In his free time, Dr. Joudrey enjoys staying active (running, cycling, weight lifting and yoga) and spending time with his partner Jonathon and their three dogs Snow, Belle and Baloo.
