Meet Dr. Isabelle Merindol
DVM
Dr. Isabelle Merindol is originally from France, though having lived across Austria, Canada, the United States, and France, she brings a uniquely open-minded and adaptable perspective to her practice. Isabelle received her veterinary medicine degree from the renowned École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort in 2019.
Following graduation, Isabelle completed a specialty internship in internal medicine at a busy private referral hospital in Montreal, followed by a specialized internship in interventional radiology at the University of Montreal. Driven by her dedication to the field, she then went on to complete a rigorous residency in small animal internal medicine at the Centre hospitalier universitaire vétérinaire (CHUV) in Saint-Hyacinthe (University of Montreal). She is thrilled to be moving to Halifax to join the Coastal Care team!
Isabelle enjoys the complex puzzle of all systemic illnesses, with special interests in uronephrology—having previously conducted dedicated study research on canine juvenile nephropathy and feline ureteral obstructions. Above all, she is passionate about working collaboratively with pet parents, ensuring they can provide the most compassionate, tailored care possible for their pets' specific situations.
Outside the clinic, Isabelle finds a refreshing balance in nature through hiking, and she hopes to soon get back into horseback riding. She shares her life with her partner and two beloved rescue pets: Mint, a quirky grumpy, good-luck black cat who made the journey all the way from France, and Beans, a clever shepherd dog who always has something to say.
